Vice President and Saunders Director of the Robert H. Smith International Center for Jefferson Studies
What is the most exciting thing happening in your area right now?
The most exciting recent development was the rebuilding of some of the slave quarters and the reconfiguration of Mulberry Row. This was inspired and informed by the work of our research and archaeology departments at the Robert H. Smith International Center for Jefferson Studies. With these recent accomplishments, Monticello will remain a leader and pioneer in the interpretation and study of slavery among historic plantation houses.
